LAURENCE LHER

LAURENCE LHER AND HER IMAGINARY NOW GEOMETRIC NOW POETIC

Those who observe Laurence Lher's modern paintings often retrace a conceptual ancestral journey characterized and driven by materiality of the brushstrokes, by the skilful use of most diverse materials. From the depth of certain strongly applications,  where everything, every line and sign, every indentation and protrusion of matter become one. Lumps and asperities, every border and every limit of space is no longer representation, it is no longer figuration or the intention of a figure, but an image.

Only image and time.

The narration of the signs and perspective unfolds on informal surfaces, the result of careful research and multi-material experimentation, in which the ranges of browns, ochres and blues prevail; the composition, full of cultural suggestions, is marked by the connections of an aesthetic and metaphorical overall dimension.

Laurence Lher uses painting to express emotion through colour. The viewer doesn’t just see Laurence’s art, they also feel and experience the emotion each piece holds. Her large-scale paintings reflect how she experiences the world and are characterised by bold, vivid use of colour and intricate texture and detail. Key themes in Laurence’s work are the connection between people and place and the appreciation of fleeting beauty.

The Artist brings together her knowledge of design, aesthetic, and colour to create paintings that are an expression of human emotion

Through constructing other worlds and manipulating scale, she disorientates the viewer and prompts them to consider possibilities beyond their usual experience.

By creating such visually immersive spaces, she endeavours to understand different opinions, particularly as they relate to our relationship with nature.

Creativity is the bearer of the exaltation of art, because it hides its invisible and hidden mystery, and the user who is stimulated by it in his psyche, opens his mind and heart and is therefore guided to a greater commitment to knowledge and reflection. . Fantasy helps him to progress and to discover his own self.

In the artist's painting, the sign acquires a predominant meaning. Before facing the oil painting, he feels a graphic need as an “analysis” of variations of his poetic imagination. As "knowledge" of feeling and seeing to then transmigrate it into the artwork. And certainly the graphic studies of the past have influenced her a lot. Not for nothing, the beginning of her, was a constant interest in making graphics with architectural and geometric compositions. Making graphics, drawing, tracing on white, red or yellow paper is a confession of humility to visualize expressive and immediate contents of the ego, to trace in wide circles, itineraries that contain images and thoughts that the artist is exploring in his space; visions perceived and fixed in time of light, the need to let the color flow like sap that runs freely on paper, to get in tune with what is hidden in existence as an elevation of new truths.

There is only the space of creative time, infinite and indecipherable for the journey in large fields of color that expand to explore one's presence

I would say that the painter carries within herself the existential knowledge of yesterday and today, life, love and feels it and lives it more when the daily adversities that affect her ego are burdened. He tries to tame them by painting and this places the artist, on an illuminating journey of the imagination, a weightless liberating pictorial process, to grasp in acts of love the beauty of the invisible that feeds our being in total and timeless enjoyment ; it is the art that opens the disturbing doors of the soul to being.
