Karla Castillo Ovando

THE ARTIST

Karla Castillo Ovando was born in Mexico City in 1977

Karla’s works consists in drawing, painting and photography. Most of the drawings are made of sumie-e, chinese ink and watercolour (Yin &Yang).
These techniques are monochromatic and emphasize the memory of a landscape that is never going to be the same, due to its permanent change.

The main subject in Karla’s work are landscapes where the perception and sensations play an important role. She works with the mystery, silence, movement and transformation, recreating the landscapes.
