Brett Fairbank Biography
Brett Fairbank bare foot walker of the earth, self-taught artist currently exhibiting in Waihi Beach Gallery in New Zealand and about to exhibit in the Louvre, Paris starting October 2017’.
When I was a kid in Bali Ubud, this is where I first discovered art, I began to hang out with the artists there it opened me up to the creative energy within me.
From then I kept drawing and painting and lived on acreage, living the fullest childhood I
could, horses, mud brick house, vegie gardens, I lived a free lifestyle.
In my youth I went to a small country school in Victoria, after this I attended high school at Mudgeeraba Somerset college where my family and I lived on the beach this is where I discovered surfing
culture which led me to work in the surfboard industry handcrafting surfboards at Mount Woodgee.
This knowledge gave me an eye for detail and I was able to express myself creatively. A phone call
from a friend overseas led me to dive in to the deep end and go traveling throughout Europe. I first went to London to meet with my friend and there we went on a journey around Europe, on one
occasion we even drove from England to Greece. I was excited to travel and expand my mind.
This is where my art really opened up, as I was travelling around Europe sketching on trains and
creating art we decided to travel to the middle east to work. When I was living in Israel picking apples for the kibbutz I painted a mural a 10 x 7-foot wall.
Throughout my life I have always been creating it’s an outlet for me, it’s given me a different perspective on life.
I get a powerful energy when creating art, it gives a better understanding of the planet I live on. With the body of art that I currently have you can clearly see the stages of my life, it’s a living
I enjoy creating art for clients and when I’m commissioned, I communicate with the client and
update with pictures and messages.
I have various styles from geometric, expressive, mixed media, photography and pen & ink.
I’m a spiritual surfer artist that enjoys a free life. My art now reflects the area I live in -the waves, mountains, rainforests, this natural beauty shows in my artwork.
My paintings calm the mind and set the viewer free.
